We are looking for a full-time CTO to join our team as our first employee, in charge of building and implementing a risk scoring algorithm from the ground up and managing the development of our tech solution.
You'll solve hard problems and have deep impact on the end-product. We're looking for an autonomous problem solver, highly motivated to work in a fast-paced environment and fully committed to contribute to the rise of a new way for companies to finance their development.
Responsibilities
• In charge of building and implementing a robust and sophisticated risk scoring algorithm based on specific operational and financial data
• Implement machine learning models that leverage the historical data collected from new clients to continuously improve the algorithm accuracy
• Build and maintain API connections with our main data providers (Stripe, Recurly, ChargeBee, Open Banking APIs)
• Develop the automation of our processes in order to allow us to deliver our financing proposals in a very short time frame and unlock the scalability of our product
• Define solutions that can help our customers quickly onboard their data in cases where data is not in traditional formats
• Coordinate with our external partner to build and maintain the front-end workflow and back-end infrastructure (including web applications)
• Recruit and manage a team of software engineers dedicated to improving and developing our tech assets and product lines
• To be at the forefront of product and process innovation
Requirements
• MSc or above from a tier-one engineer school or university, with a curriculum in applied mathematics with a focus on statistics. PhDs are welcomed
• At least 3-5+ years of experience as a data scientist or similar function in a startup or larger company. Experience in a fast-growing startup is a plus
• Experience with: machine learning, statistics, data management, data architecture, process automation and web application. Knowledge or experience in the financial or insurance sector is a plus
• Python and SQL are required. Knowledge of JavaScript with one or more main web framework (react.js, angular.js, vue.js…) is really appreciated. Any other language is a plus (C++, Java, R, Spark…)
• English is a must and French required
• Capacity to interact with non-engineering stakeholders to ensure you are going in the right direction
• Capacity to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced entrepreneurial project in the financial sector, with a willingness to both learn and share knowledge as the understanding of financial KPIs will be critical to succeed
• Deep interest in how to transform finance and technology through data
