We make custom, turn-key, machine learning products for enterprise clients in diverse sectors such as telecoms, transportation, energy, banking, communication and public relations, ecommerce, luxury, pharmaceuticals, etc. We're also building iko.ai, our internal machine learning platform (www.iko.ai) to make our lives easier which enables us to build, train, deploy, and monitor machine learning models. Therefore we'd like someone who can contribute to the code base. Our team members move through the stack.

We're looking for a Software Engineer with the following desired capabilities: - Write good quality code. We mainly use Python. - Use version control. We mainly use GitLab. - Know their way around *NIX systems and the command line interface. - Data manipulation and processing (knowledge of SQL). - Understand the business ideas and domain problems. - Explain problems, solutions, tradeoffs, thought processes. - Prioritize if not given clear tasks: quickly learn what is important. - Good level in English: our internal communications are all in English (Slack, email, docs, issues/tickets, comments). - Good technical writing: "clear, concise, complete, correct" is the way to go. - Troubleshoot technical problems, whatever they may be. We deal with those every single day. - Write and deploy applications. We mainly use Flask, JavaScript, Nginx, etc. - Yak shaving. - Use and troubleshoot various technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.). - Familiarity with cloud providers is a plus. - Provision machines, either physical or virtual (SSH into boxes and manage them) We are a tiny, tightly knit, boutique, consulting team.
